CEMA Announces Executive Director and New Members of Board of Directors

For 2011, CEMA plans to continue its successful calendar of events including conferences, meetings, seminars and study tours

CEMA's relationship-building and networking opportunities allow marketing professionals a positive venue to share ideas and learn from peers – there are exciting plans in place for 2011.

Corporate Event Marketing Association (CEMA), the premier community for senior level technology event marketing professionals, today announced Kimberley Gishler as the association’s Executive Director. Previously, Ms. Gishler served as CEMA’s Interim Executive Director.

In addition, CEMA announced the election of three new members to its Board of Directors:
-Alison Becker, senior director experiential marketing, Ciena and CEMA president
-Julie Ketelson Lynch, senior planner, SAP and CEMA vice president
-Liz Lathan, senior manager, event marketing and marketing operations, Dell and CEMA treasurer

“Kimberley’s 13 years of experience at Hewlett Packard and her long standing affiliation with CEMA will contribute to making CEMA ‘the’ association of choice for event marketers,” said Alison Becker, senior director experiential marketing, Ciena and newly elected CEMA president.

For 2011, CEMA plans to continue its successful calendar of events including conferences, meetings, seminars and study tours, like the recently held Oracle OpenWorld Study Tour. Companies that attended include VMWare, HP, Dell, Cisco, Intel, AutoDesk, Sybase and Symantec. CEMA members enjoyed an exclusive "behind the scenes" view of how a world-class conference is managed. The agenda was full of insightful best practices, peer-to-peer interaction and valuable professional networking.

“I am honored to be Executive Director of this strategic community for technology event marketing professionals,” said Kimberley Gishler, executive director of CEMA. “We look forward to continuing to provide a professional networking arena and educational programs for our members. We have already started planning our 2011 calendar of events, including our annual conference, CEMA Summit 2011, which will be held on July 10 – 13 at La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.”
