Center for Discovery, a leader in eating disorder residential treatment, is pleased to announce the success of its most recent networking event, held in conjunction with a successful exhibition at the IAEDP Symposium 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada this past weekend. As the President of IAEDP, Mr. Buck Runyan, COO of the Center for Discovery Eating Disorder Division and Certified Eating Disorder specialist, presided at the symposium.

“The purpose of the IAEDP Symposium is to promote the advancement of eating disorder treatment and Center for Discovery is proud to be a part of this effort," said Dr. Craig Brown, CEO of Center for Discovery. “By collaborating with the best doctors, clinicians and researchers in the eating disorder treatment field and promoting innovation, we strive to remain at the forefront of eating disorder treatment.”

During the IAEDP Symposium, Center for Discovery hosted a successful event with more than 100 attendees. This event was an ideal opportunity for Center for Discovery program directors and clinicians to discuss the Center for Discovery methodology and proprietary treatment program as well as the best practices that Center for Discovery follows in providing eating disorder treatment for adult women and adolescents with anorexia, bulimia or binge eating disorder. The Center for Discovery team also had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Michael Strober, director of the Eating Disorder program at the Stewart and Lynda Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA and the Franklin Mint Professor of Eating Disorders and Psychiatry at UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine. Dr. Strober and the Center for Discovery team discussed the latest in eating disorder best practices and Dr. Strober presented case studies showing the importance of the relationships between the treatment staff and eating disorder clients as a foundation to successful treatment. Dr. Strober also talked about the most effective treatment modalities in eating disorder treatment and how the Center for Discovery team can utilize those modalities in combination to form thorough and effective treatment plans for clients.
