A new revolutionary Agile Certification software testing training course, Certified Agile Tester (CAT), has been launched worldwide by iSQI. The training course helps software tester’s gain an understanding of their role within an Agile project and teaches them how to apply existing testing skills and new techniques to any Agile project.

Many are sceptical of using Agile approaches generally, and changing a traditional software testers way of thinking to move to an Agile framework can be one of the hardest transitions. Testing Solutions Group’s (TSG) John Young, who is a certified train the trainer for the Certified Agile Tester training course, explains “the best way to change a software testers way of thinking is to introduce the principles first and allow people to understand the benefits and where they are coming from”. A key thing that the experts want to remind people is that Agile testing is fun and not just the process, it’s about the attitudes as well.

Agile testing is now a mainstream discipline that in many companies is the preferred approach to systems development for their business critical projects. Certification training courses bring structure and a common language for their software testing to play a key part in an Agile project.

The Certified Agile Tester is a training course, which is successfully being run at public training centres around the UK or as private in-house courses for companies. The training course is designed to enable students to positively contribute as an Agile team member and help them to appreciate the challenges and difficulties associated with the non-testing activities performed in an Agile testing team, as well as being able to differentiate between the testing role in Agile projects compared with the role of software testers in non-Agile projects.
