Certified Payment Processing (CPP) announced a new addition to its Proxima line of payment processing terminals. The Proxima Mobile is smaller, lighter and offers several advanced features compared to their previous mobile offering.

“This is a great solution for merchants who want the flexibility to take mobile payments but also accept PIN-based debit transactions,” says Mike Hutchison, Senior Vice President of Sales for CPP. “ It is palm-sized, light weight and has nearly all of the functionality of a standard credit card terminal.”

The Proxima mobile terminal accepts credit and debit cards, EBT, gift cards and can even handle checks when placed in its docking station and connected to a check scanner. It also has the built-in ability to accept contactless credit cards, EMV Smart Cards, mobile wallets. And at 30 lines per second, it has the fastest internal printer on the market. The unit boast’s a vivid color screen, backlit keypad and comes with PCI PTS 3 certification for security. Receipts are customizable, and the terminal can function on either a dial-up or Ethernet connection back up. The “Store and Forward” feature allows merchants to accept payments when no signal is available, then process those payments once the terminal has returned to an area with signal or once it’s connected to the docking station.

“We’re constantly looking at how we can leverage the latest payment technologies to improve our customers’ experience,” Hutchison added. “Our goal is to help our merchants improve their business, whether that’s introducing new products or improved security or both in this case.”

The Proxima Mobile is the third addition to the Proxima brand, which CPP launched in March of 2012. The products and services CPP offers are designed to help businesses increase revenue, control costs, improve efficiency, enhance data security and provide their customers with the most popular payment methods.
