Online Pay Solution Powered by cfactor Recognized for 2011 Quality Award

Saskatoon Health Region recently recognized the Region Gateway to Online Pay with its annual organization-wide Quality Award. The Gateway, powered by cfactor, allows employees to view their earning statements on the web from home or via kiosks that are set up onsite for staff use.

Saskatoon Health Region (“SHR”) recently recognized the Region Gateway to Online Pay (“the Gateway”) with its annual organization-wide Quality Award. The Gateway, powered by cfactor, allows employees to view their earning statements online from home or via kiosks that are set up onsite for staff use. The Gateway went live in early December 2010. Paper pay statements were eliminated in February 2011. SHR’s Regional Manager of Payroll/Staff Scheduling Janet Orth commented, “We are very proud of the successful rollout of the Region Gateway to Saskatoon Health Region and appreciate that this would not have been possible without the cfactor product.”

Previously, pay statements were entirely paper-based and required each statement to be printed, sealed, and packaged by SHR and shipped via courier to each location. Deploying the Gateway will allow SHR to realize a return on investment through reductions in paper, equipment and courier costs alone. Further cost savings are anticipated through the opportunity to re-allocate resources previously dedicated to administering the printing, sealing, sorting, packaging, and distributing of paper-based statements. The shift to paperless statements will also provide a positive environmental impact, by completely eliminating the printing and distributing of roughly 286,000 earnings statements annually.

In addition to the cost & environmental benefits provided by the Gateway, there are a number of additional features that ensure that the online experience meets or exceeds that of the traditional model. Personalized messages can be easily added to SHR’s online pay statements, providing an efficient mechanism to communicate with staff at both the individual (e.g. for pay corrections) and mass (e.g. highlighting special events, availability of T4’s, etc.) levels. Also, division / department specific branding can be automatically added to the statements, meaning in SHR’s case the logo of the location that the employee works for will be automatically reflected on their statement. Historical statements are archived and are accessible for employee viewing, allowing for one-click access to previous pay data.
