Scaleogy.com has added a new post to their lifestyle and luxury website about a current charity auction for a 1966 Girard-Perregaux watch.

All the proceeds from the auction will be going to the University Kidney Research Organisation (UKRO).

UKRO, a non-profit charity organization, is dedicated to the research of kidneys and all the underlying disease connected to it. In fact, millions of people suffer from kidney disease but the main causes of which still remains to be unknown. Nephrologists connected to UKRO are trying to find ways to address this problem with their kidney disease research program.

Their mission is to raise funds to support medical research and education related to the eradication, treatment and causes of kidney problems. The charity organization was started in 2002. It was started by Atty. Kenneth Kleinberg, who is an entertainment lawyer, in support of Dr. Vito M. Campese’s work on kidney diseases. The research focuses on improved therapies and applied research programs.

The fight against chronic kidney disease continues. Affecting around 25 million Americans yearly and many million more worldwide, this disease is no laughing matter. It can strike anytime and affect anyone which is why the cure for this is imperative. When left untreated, it can lead to serious medical complications and even death.

The watch in the auction bears an 18k rose gold extra thin case and is 41mm wide. This timepiece which is worth $16,800, is a larger version of the 1996 Girard-Perregaux Automatic watch.

It has a caliber of reserved power which can run for 54 hours and is composed of 188 pieces. Adorned by the Côtes de Genève decoration, the pink gold watch is engraved with the luxury brand name.

Those participating in the acution will not only be getting a perfect timeless masterpiece but also contributing to a very good cause.
