The search for true love is a difficult quest indeed, for the path is fraught with many perils of the heart, and the adversities of life can seem overwhelming. In her new novel, Sweets for the Millionaire, Charlene Penfold shares the struggle to surpass these perils and adversities to create a better life. In her erotic tale, a realistic romance ensues, wherein believable events happen to believable characters, who strive to solve the problems they face, rather than rely on fantastical contrivances to resolve their troubles.
When tragedy strikes her family and takes away her parents, Danielle Slade’s life is turned upside down and she is left to care for her younger brother. She must abandon her ambitions in order to raise him, but the fog of tragedy and grief gives way, and she finds a new light in her life when she meets her dream lover, Peter Durham Andrews, a real estate tycoon who convinces Danni to turn her life around. Their relationship is wild and passionate, the pleasures they experience together are indescribable, but their romance is short-lived as a horrific accident nearly snatches Peter away from Danni. He is left crippled and despondent, and he drives Danni away.
Danni attempts to move on, her brother has grown up and opportunities for a better life arise. She meets Hugh, a handsome man who stirs her emotions and desires, yet her lingering feelings for Peter leave her conflicted. As Danni struggles to make sense of herself, Peter’s feelings draw him back to her, setting the stage for a climatic reunion that will change all their lives forever.
Sweets for the Millionaire is a touching and realistic tale of romance that promises to move the hearts of its readers. In the words of Penfold, “My characters are like you and me – real people that face real life problems and find ways in the real world to deal and solve those problems. I would like to think that my stories help people realize that no matter what, we are not alone, that we almost always have someone, and that there can be a happy ending.”
