A new real estate report details the latest activity and trends in the Charlotte real estate market. The report supplies information on the latest June 2012 statistics as well as comparisons to June 2011 sales figures in Charlotte. The breakdown of this data provides sellers and buyers a better understanding of the overall health of the Charlotte real estate market and how sales will likely trend in the coming months.

  •     Total closed home sales in June 2012 were 1,238, outpacing both the 1,108 sales in June 2011
  •     Mecklenburg County Area 4 experience the biggest increase in closed sales, with a 43.7% more sales than June of last year
  •     Mecklenburg County had 1,767 new listings in June 2012, 4% lower than the 1,841 new listings in June 2011
  •     The number of Homes for Sale in June 2012 was 7,489, down from the 9,877 listings in June 2011
  •     Sales to List Price in June 2012 was approximately 93.8%, higher than the 90% in June 2011

Jennifer Frontera, the 2012 Carolina Multiple Listing Services president said, “with five months of gains in both sales transactions and sales prices, our indicators appear to show us moving toward recovery in the Charlotte market," said. Charlotte is experiencing some of their biggest increases in home sales this year and it appears that the trend may continue. June 2012 pending sales were at 2,506, up 8.9% compared to the same time last year.
