At a time when shrinking hospital and medical practice staffs are facing increasing costs along with escalating documentation, audit and billing requirements, ChartWise:CDI is taking risk, redundancy and complexity out of the process.

Introduced at the HIMSS 2010 annual conference and exhibition March 1-4, booth #815 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA, ChartWise:CDI is a new software program that helps hospitals maximize DRG-related reimbursements, reduce Medicare audit risk, and assist in oversight and compliance. It is a product of ChartWise Medical Systems, created by physician Dr. Jonathan Elion, who previously founded Heartlab, the world's leading designer of information networks for cardiology.

"ChartWise is the only program that captures the doctor's input and helps turn clinical terms into accurate diagnostic language required for reimbursement, using a custom-designed system," said Dr. Jonathan Elion, creator of ChartWise. "It also streamlines communication between the physician and Clinical Documentation Specialist, and provides metrics vital to other administrative, medical and financial measurements," he added.

ChartWise addresses the following:

  • helps optimize Medicare reimbursements
  • assists the physician in entering accurate diagnostic terms
  • provides an audit trail to demonstrate a physician's interaction with the CDS
  • provides rapid return on investment.
  • provides documentation to substantiate claims
  • assists administrators in oversight of operations and compliance
  • provides benchmarking and data mining of significant operational measures
  • ease the transition to ICD-10

ChartWise will be demonstrating its new product at booth #815 and presenting at the Product Pavilions March 1 at 3:30 to 4:15, March 2 at 3:15 to 4:00 and March 3 at 11:00 to 11:45.
