Online retailer of cheap used books, Thrift Books expands its selection and teams up with Blue Cloud Books.

Auburn Wash. (Vocus) July 6, 2010 -- Thrift Books recently announced the addition of its newest affiliate, Blue Cloud Books LLC, located in Phoenix, Arizona. Blue Cloud Books adds an additional 800,000 books to the inventory available through the online used books store. Collectively, Thrift Books now offers more than 5 million books for sale to its customers.

“The addition of this new affiliate allows us to offer a greater selection of books and titles to our customers,” said Hector Rivas, CEO of Thrift Books. “Our prices remain low, with no shipping costs, and now our inventory is substantially greater.”

Thrift Books began in July 2003 out of a small storage facility in Kirkland, Washington, and now has warehouses or affiliates around the country, including Arizona, Connecticut, Georgia, Michigan, Oregon, Texas and Washington. Within seven years, Thrift Books has become the nation’s largest online retailer of cheap books.

“We will continue to look into expansion opportunities and partnerships so that we can always offer the best selection of cheap used books on the Internet,” said G. Seth Beal, president and chief operating officer of Thrift Books.

Because of its innovative technology to process inventory, Thrift Books keeps its costs low and offers significant discounts to its customers. In addition to selling books at deep discounts, Thrift Books also offers free shipping to its customers within the United States and discounted rates for shipping to Canada and Europe.

Each Thrift Books’ location receives shipments of additional books weekly—leading to a constant supply of used books. With each shipment, quality control reviewers appraise the inventory, ensuring that the best quality used books are offered for sale. Customers can routinely check the used books website to browse the most recently stocked books by title, author and/or subject. This database gives customer access to books located in seven different locations around the country.
