Cheap.co.uk confirms new contract with CyanMailer.
After the success of an initial in house trial email advertising campaign, the online comparison site decided to look at professional options and struck a deal with CyanMailer to handle to management of their email newsletters and advertising campaigns.
A spokesman for Cheap.co.uk stated: “Email advertising is an important marketing strategy for almost all web companies but we refrained from going down this avenue whilst we collected data and made sure our campaign stood out and matched the high standard of design and thought put into the whole Cheap brand.”
The first newsletter was sent on Tuesday 3rd April with an emphasis on airport parking, pre-paid credit cards and pet insurance. The email was heavily branded with the Cheap style retaining areas as seen on the website and looked heavily decorated compared to the typical black, grey and white marketing emails often seen in inboxes.
"Although we note speed is an issue in emails with many using handheld devices such as phones and having limited connection, we stayed clear of the bland designs, our users know the Cheap style, expecting to see colourful graphics and our chick character.
The spokesmen continued: “we plan on picking three, maybe four topics every week and sending to those who have subscribed to receive the newsletter. We have a lot of products throughout the Cheap network including voucher codes, this should help us keep the newsletter interesting and of course relevant to those who use our sites.”
