we expect a large number of travellers who would typically purchase an annual travel insurance policy to just cover individual trips

Cheap.co.uk release new and improved travel insurance rates.
One of internets top travel insurance sites, http://www.cheap.co.uk advises its new rates for this summer include reduced single trip travel insurance rates. Aiming to pull in additional sales a cheap.co.uk spokesmen commented: “we are offering some great single trip prices. Everyone is looking to save and cut costs at the moment and we expect a large number of travellers who would typically purchase an annual travel insurance policy to just cover individual trips. This is obviously more expensive for those who travel several times a year but many appear to be looking just to take the one holiday this year.”
Rates for travel insurance are calculated on previous claims data plus any mark up the company wish to add. Unusually rates have dropped at Cheap even though claims data advises there were an increased number of claims last year. The spokesmen continued: “you are correct in that the claims rate has increased. Last year travellers made a larger number of claims relating to lost and stolen items, mainly electrical equipment such as cameras. We took the decision to cut the mark up as we felt this would lead to an increased interest in both our travel insurance product and the overall Cheap brand.”
“Hopefully these new rates can help a number of UK travellers make savings and ensure they are safe and have an acceptable level of travel insurance cover in place. Cheap will be looking to do the same price cuts on a number of airport parking sites as well as on car hire at specific locations, such as popular Spanish airports and other leading holiday destinations, we really are looking to cut the costs of travel extras this summer helping the pockets of travellers and our more specifically, our customers.”
