Online comparison company Cheap has advised that its travel extras departments are still busy with travellers looking to get away now the school holidays have finished.
A spokesmen for the company advised: “summer has been fairly quiet for us this year compared to last. We’ve changing our advertising methods and cut back on Google adwords spending but the travel extras market does not seem to have slowed as of yet. Maybe it’s those who stayed for the Olympics now looking to get away for a bit?”
The company sells a number of travel related extras, like airport parking, travel insurance and car hire and advises that once the school holidays pass sales usually dip in these markets with parents not wishing to take children out of school for a holiday.
The spokesmen continued: “in terms of parking, Birmingham, Manchester and Stansted have all been busy airports through ourselves over the past week, whereas here in the office we would have expected maybe Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted as the busiest locations. Usually we would associate the family traveller heading more towards the budget airlines and smaller airports but the out of school travellers appear to be doing the same.”
The holiday extras market is extremely competitive with a large number of companies competing to offer pre-booking discounts but Cheap takes a slightly different approach by including a number of their competitors within their prices.
