Web-based comparison site Cheap.co.uk has announced that several changes to its travel insurance area took place over the last week. The changes were mainly based on the style and content of landing pages for various products, including holiday insurance, annual travel insurance and ski insurance.

A spokesmen for the company advised: “The pages are landing pages. It's typically a new customer's first impression of the site when entering Cheap.co.uk from a search engine, so it's important these look professional and provide the most up-to-date information. The last thing we want is visitors finding the site but leaving straight away as the information offered is not up to standard.”

The website has a fairly colourful design and the spokesmen noted that some of the backgrounds had been amended to further enhance this. When looking around the travel insurance area, certain backgrounds changed to follow the particular pages line of travel insurance being offered. For example, on the backpackers' insurance page, a sandy mountainous picture is shown rather than the standard travel insurance beach background.

“The pages revamped were fairly generic with subject titles such as cheap ski insurance and cheap holiday insurance. These are the most commonly hit by users from Google. As first impressions count, some backgrounds were made more vibrant to make them stand out more. I particularly like the white ski slopes for the ski insurance pages.”

The website, which aims it services at the cheap travel insurance market, offers an online comparison with a number of brands offered, each having its own levels of cover and different rates.
