Extending a Helping Hand to Children: RE/MAX Offices in Northern Illinois Real Esate Market Set Record for Support in 2009

Supporting top quality medical care for children has been a long-time objective of the RE/MAX Northern Illinois real estate network. That effort reached a new peak in 2009 when 36 percent of all offices in the network achieved Miracle Office status. In 2008, 31 percent of offices reached that goal.

A Miracle Office is one in which every agent makes a donation to the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) during the calendar year. Agents can either make a one-time donation or pledge to make a donation for every real estate transaction they close. Donations by RE/MAX in northern Illinois go primarily to Children’s Memorial Hospital of Chicago, while funds collected in the western portion of the region benefit Children’s Hospital of Iowa in Iowa City.

“The continuing commitment our agents show to helping CMN children’s hospitals is a great source of pride for our organization,” said Jim Merrion, regional director of the RE/MAX network in northern Illinois. “The fact that we once again set a new record for our level of support is especially notable given the challenging economic climate of 2009.”

Among the 2009 Miracle Offices were nine that achieved that status for the first time. They are: RE/MAX County Line, Burr Ridge; RE/MAX Professional Advantage, Byron; RE/MAX Destiny, Elk Grove Village; RE/MAX Town Lake and Country, Freeport; RE/MAX 1st Service, Homer Glen; RE/MAX Property Associates, Morrison; RE/MAX Great American North, St. Charles; RE/MAX Suburban, Wheaton and RE/MAX Market, Willow Springs.

The CMN is a nationwide effort that supports children’s health services at outstanding hospitals. RE/MAX is the exclusive real estate sponsor of CMN.

In 2009, the RE/MAX Northern Illinois network renewed its Platinum-Level sponsorship of Children’s Memorial Hospital, contributing more than $100,000 during the year, with nearly all funds donated by the RE/MAX agents themselves. RE/MAX has been a Platinum Sponsor of the hospital since 2003.

The 2,500 RE/MAX associates in northern Illinois are pleased to support life saving medical care for children through a variety of fundraising activities as they continue to lead in residential real estate.
