The principals of two Chicago real estate offices, RE/MAX Signature North and RE/MAX Signature have recently announced a merger of the two companies. The move creates a stronger real estate brokerage, one that benefits from a large group of talented real estate agents and the lower overhead costs that come with operating one office instead of two.

The merger became official at the end of May, when RE/MAX Signature North and its agents moved into the RE/MAX Signature office at 2901 N. Clybourn Ave. in Chicago. The office, which will retain the RE/MAX Signature name, will be run by broker/owner Linda O’Donnell, a real estate veteran. Hugo Rodriquez, the owner of the former RE/MAX Signature North office, is joining the new office as a real estate agent and mentor.

Both O’Donnell and Rodriguez said that the merger will make the new RE/MAX Signature an even more powerful presence in the city.

“This move strengthens the office overall,” O’Donnell said. “There are more yard signs with our name on it now. There are more ads with our name on it. There is more inventory being represented by our agents. This move has made our already strong presence in the city even stronger.”

“The merger makes the office that much stronger because of the talents of the agents that we are bringing to RE/MAX Signature,” Rodriguez said. “This is a good move for our clients. The combined resources from this new larger office means that we have more to offer to our clients.”

The merger brings 87 new listings – represented by the agents coming from RE/MAX Signature North – to the new RE/MAX Signature office. A total of 10 new agents will also join the Chicago real estate company’s office.

Merging two offices can be a challenging task, but O’Donnell says that this hasn’t been the case at RE/MAX Signature. The two offices held a party shortly after the merger to introduce the agents of each office to one another. That party went well, O’Donnell said.

“We’re all hardworking agents here. We all have the same goals,” O’Donnell said. “So far, this merger has gone very well. It has been incredibly smooth. I’m thrilled to have these new agents in our office, and I look forward to a phenomenal end of 2010.”

With the addition of the new agents, RE/MAX Signature now boasts a staff of 58 agents.

O’Donnell is a veteran of the Chicago residential real estate business. She has owned RE/MAX Signature offices for the last nine years. Rodriguez, too, is a longtime member of the residential real estate industry. He’s sold real estate for 23 years.
