Mount Prospect, IL (Vocus) August 19, 2010
CoreLink Data Centers, LLC, a provider of leading-edge co-location services and management of mission critical business applications, today announced the relocation of its Phoenix headquarters to Mount Prospect. Along with completing its headquarter move, the company also announced its new 80,000-plus square foot data center is now operational, joining CoreLink’s four other colocation data centers in Seattle, Las Vegas, and Phoenix.
“We are very pleased to have moved our head office to such a strategic and vibrant area of business and technology,” said Geoff Hampson, CEO of CoreLink Data Centers. “Our sizable investment at our new Chicago data center will have a significant impact on the local economy through job creation and capital investment in the community.”
CoreLink’s new data center is a standalone facility located on 5.4 acres of land. The Chicago co-location facility is over 80,000 sq. feet and will offer all of CoreLink’s data center solutions in secure, controlled environments. The Chicago data center has the latest in security and management technology, including biometric security scanners, multiple and diverse connections to the internet, several layers of redundant emergency power equipment, and the latest and most sensitive fire detection and suppression systems.
With the addition of this Tier III+ data center to its North American footprint, CoreLink will provide customers with substantial expansion capacity for high-density installations in cabinets, cages, and private suites, while delivering reliable and redundant connections to the internet. Key features of the Chicago co-location space include state of art facility design and technology, carrier neutral connectivity, total power of 16MW and 10MW of 2N Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), N+1 cooling, and redundancy on all critical systems.
“Our Chicago co-location design is very flexible, enabling customers, including those with high density requirements, the ability build and grow their core IT infrastructure seamlessly,” Hampson said. “The variety of options we offer can align with any of our customers business needs.”
The size and manageability of the Chicago data center facility allows for scalability for businesses as server technology continues to evolve.
