The @properties Friends and Neighbors Community Fund, the charitable arm of the #1 Chicago real estate broker, @properties, hosted its inaugural fundraising gala this past weekend to raise money for four Chicago non-profit organizations: Lincoln Park Community Shelter, Urban Initiatives, Camp of Dreams and Street Level.

The June 5 fundraiser called Chicago Revealed: A Pursuit of Chicago’s Hidden Treasures featured an “Amazing Race” style competition in which teams followed clues across the city to reveal famous Chicago landmarks such as the Green Mill jazz club in Uptown, Alta Vista Street in Lake View, and Wooden Alley in the Gold Coast. The race ended at the Saddle & Cycle Club on the city’s North Side, where there were silent and live auctions, dining and live music.

More than 250 people attended the event.

@properties co-founders Michael Golden and Thaddeus Wong established the @properties Friends and Neighbors Community Fund last year to direct the Chicago real estate broker's extensive philanthropic activities. The co-chairs for this year’s Chicago Revealed event were @properties agents Gwen Farinella and Jennifer Johnson.

“The success of this event demonstrates the generosity of our agents, employees and sponsors, as well as the many clients and friends that make up the extended @properties family,” said Golden.

“The goal was not only to raise money but also to have fun. The race got everyone involved and excited and was a great way to kick off the evening,” said Wong. “We look forward to building on this theme next year and establishing a great tradition in Chicago philanthropy.”

The Fund’s next major fundraiser is its second annual golf outing on August 23 at Silver Lake Country Club in Orland Park. Last year’s outing was a sold out affair.

Sponsors for Chicago Revealed: A Pursuit of Chicago’s Hidden Treasures were: Guaranteed Rate; Burke, Warren, MacKay and Serritella, P.C.; The Hechtman Group Ltd.; Chicago Tribune; Antheus Capital; Home Run Technology; G & E Contracting; The Law Office of Michelle Laiss; Smith & Larkin Design; InPlay Events; Ashland Addison Florist; Stella Artois; Mount Gay Rum; The Macallan; and Remy Martin.
