Carl’s Jr. Chili Cheese Burgers and Fries are selling faster than you can catch the drip of chili falling onto your shirt. Introduced on February 20, the Chili Cheese Burger and Fries have been a big success with customers, exceeding the company’s expectations. And to no surprise, drycleaners across the Western states have noticed an increase in the amount of chili stains brought into their stores.
“People have been ordering a lot of Carl’s Jr. new Chili Cheese Burger and Chili Cheese Fries. Clearly, people don’t mind getting a little messy for a great burger,” said Brad Haley, executive vice president of marketing for Carl’s Jr. restaurants. “So, given the success of these new menu items and after the Drycleaning & Laundry Institute’s endorsement for, admittedly, self-serving reasons, we wanted to take that relationship even further. We’ve given participating drycleaners bags promoting our Chili Cheeseburgers and Fries for their customers’ cleaned clothes.”
At the launch of the Chili Cheese Burger and Fries last month, the Drycleaning & Laundry Institute (DLI) endorsed the messy products, encouraging customers to indulge and then bring the chili-stained clothing to a DLI drycleaner near them. This week, Carl’s Jr. has expanded their collaboration with more than a thousand drycleaners throughout the Western U.S. by introducing Chili Cheese Burger and Fries-branded drycleaning bags and window clings in store-front windows. The bags and window signs have been sent to 1,250 drycleaners in Carl’s Jr. 14-state footprint. DLI members are also featuring counter-top signs and coupons for the products in their locations to show their further support for these messy items.
Additionally, Carl’s Jr. has teamed up with cleaning guru Jeff Campbell of The Clean Team to give television viewers additional tips on how to get chili cheese stains off clothing and any items which may have been sullied in the “drip zone” of Carl’s Jr. chili menu items. Mr. Campbell will appear on morning programs throughout the Western states to provide his expert stain-removal tips.
“I tip my hat to the drycleaners and laundry specialists who have been a huge help in cleaning up the chili cheese stains we’ve created and have kept customers coming back for more,” added Haley.
Customers hungry for some messy goodness can choose from a variety of chili cheese burger options with the Single Chili Cheese Burger, Double Chili Cheese Burger, and The Chili Cheese Six Dollar Burger™ versions available.
All of Carl’s Jr. Chili Cheese Burgers start with a charbroiled beef patty, topped with beef chili, crowned with American cheese, tomatoes, yellow onions, dill pickles and mustard – all packed between a seeded bun. Single, Double, and Six Dollar Chili Cheese Burgers sell for $2.99, $3.99, and $4.79, respectively, or as part of a combo meal for $4.99, $5.99, or $6.79. Prices may vary.
Carl’s Jr. Chili Cheese Fries are smothered with the same beef chili, topped with melted jack and cheddar cheeses and served with a fork. Chili Cheese Fries sell for $2.79 or can be substituted in any combo for an additional charge. Again, prices may vary.
