No one plywood manufacturer dominates the industry.
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) June 29, 2013
In 2013, the Plywood Manufacturing industry in China is expected to generate $70.1 billion, representing annualized growth of 20.8% for the past five years, says IBISWorld. As many downstream industries, including building construction, building completion, wood furniture manufacturing, automobile manufacturing and ship building developed rapidly, demand for plywood skyrocketed.
Exports played an important role in the development of the industry until 2007 when anti-dumping policies in the United States and the European Union hindered China's plywood export growth. Exports accounted for 25.0% of industry revenue in 2007 but less than 10.0% in 2013. Increased international environmental protection standards, such as limiting formaldehyde levels, and export rebate reductions in recent years, have also contributed to lower export levels.
Most plywood manufacturers are small or medium in scale and located in East China and Middle South China. The top four industry participants – Luli Group, Jiangsu Shengyang Wood Industrial, Xinle Plywood Group and Hebei Yingang Artificial Board – account for 7.9% of total revenue, representing a low industry concentration level. There is no one plywood manufacturer dominating the Plywood Manufacturing industry in China.
