Oxygen Software updates Oxygen Forensic Suite 2012, the company’s flagship mobile forensic tool, adding forensic support for Chinese-designed mobile phones based on the Mediatek chipset via an add-on. All latest Philips phones using the same chipset are also supported. The add-on is available to customers running all editions of Oxygen Forensic Suite 2012, including the most affordable Standard edition. By analyzing Chinese-built models, Oxygen boosts the number of supported models to more than 3,500. Support for additional models will be included in the nearest future. In addition, the updated Oxygen Forensic Suite 2012 enables concurrent acquisition of several phones connected to a PC. Concurrent acquisition greatly speeds up the process of extracting information from multiple devices. The new acquisition mode runs in background, allowing investigators to analyze data from previously acquired devices during the process.

Oxygen Forensic Suite 2012 offers forensic specialists an option to analyze the content of MTK (Mediatek) based cell phones. The new add-on extends the list of supported devices, boosting the number of models supported by Oxygen Forensic Suite to 3,500.

Concurrent Acquisition

The newly added concurrent acquisition mode greatly reduces the time waste, allowing forensic specialists to speed up the process of data acquisition by connecting multiple phones at the same time. Information from all connected devices can be transferred to the PC at the same time, thus reducing the wait. The acquisition process can run in background, allowing investigators to work with previously acquired information at the time of the concurrent transfer.

The Chinese Phones add-on is available to all users of Oxygen Forensic Suite 2012, including the users of the Standard edition for a fee. There are no recurring charges, yearly upgrade or maintenance fees.
