The Let It Be Foundation is particularly close to our heart as it was the first charity we worked with upon moving to Chino Hills and they have touched the lives of so many children and families.
Chino Hills, CALIFORNIA (PRWEB) February 19, 2013
Having a child with a life-threatening pediatric illness is a stressful and trying time for parents and family members. Many families find comfort by trying to bring a semblance of normalcy back into their lives as they support their children through their illness.
The Let It Be Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports Southern California families whose children are stricken with cancer and other life-threatening illness. It was inspired by Karla Asch-Rosen, who was diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer, and who had a desire to “just be normal.”
One of the Foundation’s programs is called Bedside Packs. Bedside Packs are goodie bags that include games, coloring books, arts and crafts, etc., and are individualized by gender and age. The Bedside Packs are given to children who have to stay overnight at a hospital, and help provide them with some “normal fun” during their stay.
Chino Hills boot camp and Brea boot camp owners Cara and John Eckerman recently announced their support of The Let It Be Foundation’s Beside Packs fundraiser to support patients at CHOC and Ronald McDonald House, Loma Linda. Their goal is to not only bring awareness to the Foundation’s mission, but to get their members and surrounding Chino Hills and Brea communities to support the Foundation’s Bedside Packs program by donating 150 Bedside Packs to these hospitals.
“Having the support from such energetic and passionate community partners like Fit Body Boot Camp means that together we will be able to deliver more smiles to kids who need our help,” said Wendy Zeltman, Events and Programs Director for The Let It Be Foundation.
“John and I feel so blessed to be a part of such amazing communities who have embraced and supported us. We want to give back in any way possible,” said Cara Eckerman. “The Let It Be Foundation is particularly close to our heart as it was the first charity we worked with upon moving to Chino Hills and they have touched the lives of so many children and families. This particular cause, Bedside Packs, was compelling to us as we currently have a member whose daughter is in the hospital.”
