They used to give me Muscle Relaxers and I would have to take days off of work. Ever since I’ve started using kinesio taping I’m able to continue working through injury and still heal faster than before.

Most people have seen the multi-colored tape that athletes wear on various parts of their body, this is kinesio tape. Kinesio tape is the latest breakthrough in injury recovery and prevention. It is also the newest service offered by Dr. Ken Andersen of Andersen Chiropractic in Sandy, Utah.

Kinesio Tape is composed of cotton, contains no latex, and can be used to treat numerous types of injuries and conditions. It is typically worn for 3 to 5 days and can be applied in several patterns and directions based upon the location and the nature of the injury. Application of the tape consists of stretching the tape in specific directions based on the location of the injury and to create the correct amount of tension. This will help with healing and prevention of injury.

“I have pulled several muscles in my back over the years due to lifting boxes in a warehouse” says Josh Simpson of Salt Lake City, Utah. “They used to give me Muscle Relaxers and I would have to take days off of work. Ever since I’ve started using kinesio taping I’m able to continue working through injury and still heal faster than before.”

In addition to kinesio taping, Dr. Ken Andersen also offers several other services, such as chiropractic adjustments and spinal decompression. He also employs an experienced and caring staff that puts the comfort of the patient first.
