We are proud to fill the void for organizations that seek to sustain the philanthropic mission of their programs without drowning under the administrative burden.

International Scholarship and Tuition Services, Inc. (ISTS) recently signed an agreement with the Choice Hotels International Foundation to develop an online application portal and manage application processing and funds disbursement for their newly expanded corporate scholarship program.

In previous years, the company’s Foundation typically received less than 50 applications for its corporate scholarship program and chose to handle all administration tasks internally. The recent decision to open the application process to the company’s more than 4,900 independently-owned and operated domestic franchise properties, however, is expected to drastically increase the number of submitted applications.

According to Kelly Kane, executive director of the Choice Hotels International Foundation and vice president of corporate communications for Choice Hotels, this anticipated growth prompted the Foundation to seek external scholarship management support.

“Many scholarship providers underestimate the workload associated with a major scholarship program. As need has increased and more college-bound kids are finding scholarships online, programs are growing faster than ever,” said Eric Wilner, Vice President of Sales for ISTS. “We are proud to fill the void for organizations that seek to sustain the philanthropic mission of their programs without drowning under the administrative burden.”

The Choice Hotels International Foundation scholarship program will award up to fifty $2,500 scholarships this year – 30 awards for dependents of corporate associates and 20 awards to employees at the company’s independently-owned hotel franchises or their dependent children.

In addition to meeting general eligibility requirements, scholarship recipients will be selected based on academic achievement, participation in their communities and evaluation of their work experience. The scholarship application period closes on July 15, 2011.
