In a first-time move for the company, Christmas Tree Market, an online leader in traditional and non-traditional artificial pre lit Christmas trees, announces a four-day free-shipping promotion site wide from 11/20/09 - 11/23/09.
They join the growing number of retailers offering free shipping specials this year. According to the National Retail Federation, this year 80% of all online retailers will offer free shipping of some kind, up from 78% in 2007. But, along with Christmas Tree Market, only 57% of retailers plan to offer free shipping with no conditions.

In addition to free home delivery, artificial Christmas trees are known for their convenience. With their easy setup and disassembly and low maintenance needs, they consistently gain popularity over the years. A survey conducted for the National Christmas Tree Association in 2007 states that artificial Christmas tree sales jumped 87% from the year before, from 9.3 million to 17.4 million.
It is unclear how many consumers purchased their artificial Christmas tree online, but shoppers are spending more time online this year, and online retailers of artificial Christmas trees, like Christmas Tree Market, are benefiting. According to the National Retail Federation, 27% of online shoppers say they will spend a large portion of their Christmas budget at online stores. 33% of those consumers say they're willing to spend the money because of free shipping.
Christmas Tree Market is expecting their free shipping promotion to support already strong sales for their pre lit Christmas trees heading into the holiday season. "We've seen a lot of interest in our traditional and white Christmas trees," says Mr. Ball. "The trend is toward a more traditional Christmas this year."
Christmas Tree Market's free shipping promotion starts at 12am PST on 11/20/09 and ends at 11:59pm PST on 11/23/09. The free shipping is for FedEx Ground Shipping only. No code necessary.
