HolidayLEDs.com is an internet retailer which specializes in LED Christmas lights. The internet retailer has operated a Christmas light recycling program since 2007 and has recycled over 20,000 pounds of old Christmas lights. Today the company announced that it will again honor coupons issued by Home Depot stores for participants of the home improvement retailer's Christmas light recycling drive.

“One of the advantages of the Home Depot Christmas light recycling program is that there is probably a Home Depot store in (or near) most communities in the United States so people who want to participate can simply drop the lights off,” explained Philip C. Curtis of HolidayLEDs.com. “Although we have a several partners who collect lights for our program, most people who participate must mail their lights to us,” Curtis added, “which is fine but it is also a barrier for some people who may otherwise wish to participate in the HolidayLEDs.com Christmas light recycling program.” While the Home Depot program may be convenient, it lasts for only 10 days, is limited by supply, and Home Depot's selection of LED Christmas lights is not nearly as large as that offered by HolidayLEDs.com.

The current Home Depot program runs through November 14th and anyone who participates will receive a coupon good for $3 off any set of LED Christmas lights from the Home Depot. There is a limit of 5 coupons per customer and each coupon can be applied to one set of lights. The coupons also expire on November 14, 2010. In contrast, the HolidayLEDs.com Christmas light recycling program runs year round and the coupons, good for 25% off any order at HolidayLEDs.com, are valid for at least 12 months. Anyone who recycles their Christmas lights with Home Depot can exchange their Home Depot coupons for one HolidayLEDs.com coupon good for 25% off LED Christmas lights purchased on the company's website. Participants who recycle their lights at Home Depot may also choose a $3 off coupon from HolidayLEDs.com instead. “We hope that this offer will increase the overall participation in the Christmas light recycling programs and give consumer's more options for receiving value for their participation,” Curtis concluded.
