With the release of his new book, “My Life with the Scorpion Kitten” (published by AuthorHouse), author Christopher Thomas Hunt pays tribute to a deceased pet.

“My main purpose in writing this book was to help me deal with the death of my cat, Mathias,” notes Hunt. “Having grown up on a farm, animals have always been an important part of my life, especially cats.”

In “My Life with the Scorpion Kitten,” Hunt details the life of Mathias and the bond they shared. Mathias, who was born with the feline leukemia virus, lived a challenging life. The virus affected his eyes, leading to blindness. However, Mathias overcame these challenges to live a life, however brief, of love and affection.

An excerpt from “My Life with the Scorpion Kitten”:

“As I begin to write, it is the day after the worst day of my life. September 6, 2008, the day I lost the one person that held my life together. The one person who cared about me no matter what, and who I looked to whenever things were bad. The one person I could count on to be by my side through anything, good or bad, that I may have to face. My cat, Mathias.”
