Chronicles of Piye is a the brainchild of writer and creator Richard Gaskin, with stunning artwork and character design from Chris Miller. The comic series started out as a concept back in October 2011 when Gaskin, located in Toronto contacted Miller who resides in Atlanta, about the possibility of collaborating on an African-based fantasy comic series and graphic novel. The script was then written when Gaskin was on a 3-month vacation in Nairobi, Kenya spending time with family. The comics are available for sale at various major online retail outlets in print or digital form and can also be bought directly from the Chronicles of Piye website store.

Set in the ancient Kingdom of Kerma (also known as Kush or Nubia), the story centers around the young hero, Piye who is plagued by strange dreams of his brother's death that finally compel him to ask his father, Alara about the true details about the death of his older brother Shabaka. He is told by his father, a former general in the Kerma imperial army, that his brother was murdered by the henchmen of a group of renegade priests known as The Chosen.

The ultimate aim of The Chosen is to resurrect the powerful, ancient demon Runihura, and bring about another demon invasion of the world of humans. Atiga, a retired general from the Kerma Imperial army and leader of The Chosen, has ambitions to lead a demon army to conquer the Kingdom of Kerma and all other human kingdoms in order to become King of the World while serving his demon overlords. To bring about the return of the demons, The Chosen are looking for and collecting the mystical, ancient artifacts needed to open the Stellar Door and allow for the demons to invade the earth.

With the aid of his father and his mother who is a mystic and member of the Priestess Class, Piye undertakes a dangerous ritual to gain mastery of his sword. He must also contend with an esoteric group of mystics known as The Hand whose loyalties are divided between the Kingdom of Kerma & their own secret agenda and a small band of high-powered warriors. The Hand send their best spy, Teferi to report on the activities of the Piye as they try to make him a pawn in their plans. Meanwhile the Priestesses and Awa'a, an old comrade of Piye's father Alara, send him reinforcements to support him. Joining forces with a small band of high-powered warriors, Piye seeks to stop the evil plans of The Chosen and avenge his brother's death in the process.

Comic enthusiasts from various countries such as the US, Canada, UK, as well as Indonesia, Japan, Egypt, Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil, and India have expressed their appreciation for this seminal comic series on the Facebook Fan Page.
