LeMay Erickson Willcox Architects of Reston, VA and Scott-Long Construction of Chantilly, VA jointly announce open registration for their third annual seminar and workshop held at Vienna Presbyterian Church in Vienna, VA to support purposeful church development.

Building on Purpose is an informative seminar and workshop designed to help participants understand the process of planning, designing, and constructing a place of worship that purposefully matches ministry goals and truly helps build the church. Participants can choose to attend on October 1 or October 2, 2010 from 9am to 2pm, for the one-day event.

The event, which was created for church leaders who plan to build or update their house of worship within the next 5 years, covers a wide range of topics, including planning and budgeting for the construction project; new building programming techniques; the master planning process; how to enlist the help of an architect; how to maintain capital stewardship; ideas for raising funds for the project; how to obtain necessary financing; and tips for selecting and working with a contractor.

Building on Purpose is hosted by two of the DC area’s leading church building services providers: LeMay Erickson Willcox Architects and Scott-Long Construction.

“Our goal is to share our knowledge and experience in a way that gives participants of Building on Purpose the confidence to move their church building project forward while maintaining credibility among their congregation and stewardship principles throughout all of their decision-making,” remarked John Scott, President of Scott-Long Construction.

“It’s more than a seminar, it’s an interactive workshop that will allow church leaders to not only visualize their results, but to plan for them in a realistic and achievable way,” added Paul Erickson, Principal of LeMay Erickson Willcox Architects.

Building on Purpose will take place on October 1 and October 2, 2010, from 9am to 2pm. Participants can choose either of the two available dates at Vienna Presbyterian Church in Vienna, VA. The cost is $40 per organization of up to four people.
