The film festival is expected to screen more than one hundred films, shorts and music videos with well over fifteen hundred attendees this year.
New York, NY (PRWEB) May 29, 2013
The regular deadline for the NYC Independent Film Festival is on May 31st 2013 and filmmakers around the world have been hurrying to submit their films either through Withoutabox or the festival’s website. Submissions have come from over twenty countries so far, on every continent, and the organizing committee said they are excited about the quality and diversity of the films being submitted. The jury has been working hard to select the best of the submissions in each category and they are excited about each one of the few official selections so far. The film festival is expected to screen more than one hundred films, shorts and music videos with well over fifteen hundred attendees this year.
The opening party is scheduled for October 18th 2013 at the Producers Club in Times Square. This location is not new to New Yorkers who have been regularly going there to see and support independent artists since 1993. This has been the perfect location for the NYC Independent Film Festival, an event geared towards supporting independent filmmakers and cinema for the last three years.
The opening party will see all the filmmakers, actors, producers and press, meeting and socializing over drinks, while screenings of films will be taking place at the Producers Club. This fun event will kick off the rest of the weekend, promising to be full of packed theatres supporting true indie filmmakers and artists. Day and weekend passes, as well as tickets for the Music Video Awards Party, and showcase are on sale now on the NYC Indie Film Festival’s website. All tickets for the individual screenings will go on sale mid-August. The festival is urging supporters to buy their tickets before coming to the festival, as it will sell out.
The film festival will also host panel discussions with the creators and casts of the movies throughout the weekend. The panels are a great way for those who always have questions about a movie, but never the opportunity to ask them, to pick the brains of the artists. There is also a Music Video Awards event planned for the evening of October 19th 2013. The three-hour party will screen the music videos and interview the musicians, directors, and actors. NYC Indie Film Festival’s Facebook and Twitter @NYCIndieFF is an ideal way to keep up with what’s happening as they are constantly being updated with the official selections, upcoming deadlines, and more fun stuff.
