There are currently over 23 million military veterans in the United States, 9 million of whom are over the age of 65. That number is only going to increase.
Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) October 30, 2009
There has been a marked increase over the past year in the number of Government Nurse Jobs available for Traveling Nurses, Techs, Therapists, NPs, and PAs according Greg Allen, President of Travel Nursing Agency Cirrus Medical Staffing.
"There are increasing demands in our Military Hospitals and VA facilities due to ongoing military conflicts overseas combined with the fact that Korean War and Vietnam War veterans are getting older," said Allen. "There are currently over 23 million military veterans in the United States, 9 million of whom are over the age of 65. That number is only going to increase."
The increasing demand on government facilities has led to increased government spending on military and VA facilities and staff. The United States military's current FY '09 construction budget is $25 billion, with the majority going toward renovating and building new housing and medical facilities. The Obama administration has requested $22.9 billion for military construction in 2010 and a total budget of $112.8 for the VA, much of it earmarked specifically for healthcare facilities and improved care.
"On top of the increased spending however, there continues to be an acute shortage of primary care physicians at America's military and VA hospitals," said Cirrus Medical Staffing Government Division Manager Daniel Matus. "For qualified Traveling Nurses, Techs, Therapists, NPs, and PAs, this dire situation has created unique opportunities to not only find great jobs with significant pay and benefits, but the opportunity to give back to those who sacrificed for our freedom."
Traveling Nurses, Techs, Therapists, NPs, and PAs working in Government Nurse Jobs at military and VA facilities find a special sense of fulfillment caring for the men and women who have defended our country. Government Nurse Jobs offer Traveling Nurses, Techs, Therapists, NPs, and PAs a rare opportunity to gain priceless experience, while dedicating their profession in an emotionally satisfying and rewarding way.
