Plixer Labs: Cisco NetFlow Visualization
Scrutinizer introduces exciting new ways to view network traffic data
Sanford, ME (PRWEB) June 3, 2009 -- Plixer International, network traffic monitoring software developer, has announced Plixer Innovation Labs, a project for highlighting new and exciting ways to visualize Cisco NetFlow traffic.
"We have always prided ourselves on our extensive data retention, but there is a lot of work that goes into how we display that information visually to our users," says Scrutinizer Product Manager, Michael Patterson. "The focus of Plixer Labs is to give Scrutinizer users a glimpse at some of the NetFlow visualization methods we have been trying. Not everything makes it into the final product, but we think some of the ways we visualize network traffic is more involving and exciting than anything else on the market."
The Matrix View:
One of the first two views revealed as part of the Plixer Labs is the Matrix view. The Matrix is intended to be a Top Hosts view. Users can click hosts to view the other hosts that are connecting to the selected host (green) or the hosts that the selected host is connecting to (blue). If you are feeling like a turn on Wheel of Fortune, go ahead and grab the circle in the center and give it a spin.
The Flock View:
Flock is a replayer of the Top 10 Destination Hosts (white circles) and the corresponding Top 5 Source Hosts (yellow circles) sending data to each of the Top 10 Destinations. Grab the dots and slam them into each other.
Plixer puts a lot of value into its data visualization and hopes to bring more usefully and interactive ways to view NetFlow data in the coming months.
Scrutinizer System Requirements
System requirements can vary depending on specific product implementations. Operating platforms include Windows 2000/2003/XP.
Pricing
Prices start at $995 for 2 routers and range up to $8,995 for unlimited routers.
The Scrutinizer Flow Analytics add-on module is available for $4,995.
