Cisco has shown considerable confidence in NetFlow as an overall delivery method for network traffic monitoring data.
Sanford, ME (PRWEB) July 13, 2011
As part of the Cisco Systems Borderless Networks approach to unifying the overall smart network model, Cisco has continued to innovate with new technologies that keep media-rich environments both flexible in their deployment and secure in their a access compliance. One of its latest technology architectures, Cisco TrustSec (CTS), works as a means to help organizations establish and enforce a clear global access policy throughout the network infrastructure. Data integrity is enhanced by labeling a device’s role in the organization using an intuitive system of tags. User access throughout various parts of the network can be allowed or restricted based on their function.
Adding further value to the TrustSec security access control model are several new reporting options found in the upcoming version of Scrutinizer NetFlow Analyzer. Not only can network administrators establish Security Group Access domains consisting of trusted network devices, but with Scrutinizer they can verify the traffic from and between these secure CTS networks.
“Cisco has shown considerable confidence in NetFlow as an overall delivery method for network traffic monitoring data,” says Scrutinizer Product Manager, Michael Patterson. “Further support with Cisco TrustSec exports just validates our focus on NetFlow reporting as our primary data collection method.”
Cisco TrustSec is available today on the Catalyst 3750-X and 6500 w/ Supervisor 2T, while Plixer plans to release its CTS reporting options later this year.
