Tom Weithman, Vice President and CIT GAP Funds Managing Director, Center for Innovative Technology (CIT) has been named a finalist for Financier of the Year for the 2013 Greater Washington Technology CFO Awards, produced by the Northern Virginia Technology Council. Now in its 17th year, the CFO Awards recognize chief financial officers and financiers for extraordinary achievement and excellence in promoting the development of the Greater Washington region's technology community, and include the following awards: Private Company CFO of the Year, Public Company CFO of the Year, Emerging Growth CFO of the Year and Financier of the Year.
The Financier of the Year award is presented to a venture capitalist, private equity investor or an investment, merchant or commercial banker who has contributed to the economic development of the Greater Washington region’s technology community.
Winners will be announced at the awards banquet on May 29, 2013, at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner in McLean, Va. These awards are a joint endeavor of Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers, and the chairmanship of the event is rotated among the four accounting firms. The chairman of this year's awards program is Gina Gin, a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
