What is Citrix XenApp?
Citrix XenApp (formerly called Citrix Presentation Server and Citrix MetaFrame Server) is the Citrix Systems platform that enables users to remotely connect to company applications that are physically installed and located on central server machines. The platform only requires a Citrix "client" on the user machine. Users may connect from any remote site (office, home, etc. ) and execute all applications as if they were installed locally.

How can DocPath improve your Citrix XenApp investment?
The flexibility offered by a Citrix XenApp environment is reduced by the complexity of printing business documents generated by remote applications on Citrix servers. DocPath for Citrix XenApp is increasingly popular among enterprises that wish to benefit from the variety of functionalities and straightforward management of DocPath Solutions for printing high-quality documents.

DocPath offers complete solutions that are specially designed to cover all needs relative to the document life cycle. DocPath for Citrix XenApp is a DocPath solution that allows enterprises to augment the advantages of their Citrix environment with a sophisticated and efficient document printing system.

DocPath uses state-of -the-art technology that reduces the bandwidth required for printing high-quality documents on Citrix platforms up to 99%. DocPath for Citrix XenApp adapts to all your needs and provides all elements, including document version control, required for completely automated and unattended execution.

DocPath for Citrix XenApp implementation is flexible. Thus, the solution perfectly adapts to any client need. The different implementation options are:

Distributed
DocPath merges data with document templates on the Citrix client instead of on the server. Therefore, DocPath avoids having to transfer heavy PDF or PCL files over the network. Moreover, distribution of electronic forms and version control are completely automated.

Centralized
The application sends the data to DocPath to generate and print the document. Document generation is highly optimized and compressed on the server. DocPath transfers the document to the client machine, where the document will be uncompressed and printed. Additionally, form version control is included.

Additionally, generated documents may be:

  • automatically sent and distributed by e-mail or fax servers. Document distribution is guaranteed as it does not depend on the availability of client machines or communication lines. The entire user-defined document distribution management is guaranteed.
  • included in a document management system in which documents may be indexed and archived in a database.
  • printed as part of a massive print process in which high-volume printers are employed.
  • controlled according to document versions to ensure correct document generation, even if the required form (or its corresponding version) is not available when document generation is started, in which case the required form or version will be automatically downloaded. This functionality is especially recommended for environments with a high number of users and forms.

DocPath for Citrix XenApp offers total reliability as it ensures that no process is left in a wait queue and that the job is correctly processed. The solution is totally scalable and easy to implement.
