We experienced record attendance in past years at Snowmass Village, so we are going back.
Snowmass Village, Colorado (PRWEB) September 14, 2011
Lawyers interested in Continuing Legal Education (CLE) courses and serious world-class skiing will be registering for the National CLE Conference at Snowmass Village (near Aspen, Colorado) from January 4 through 8, 2012. The Silvertree Hotel and Conference Center will host the event which is expected to draw over 1500 participants.
Gary Abrams, Executive Director of Continuing Legal Education in Colorado, Inc., says, “We experienced record attendance in past years at Snowmass Village, so we are going back.”
In many states, attorneys are required to take accredited CLE programs in order to maintain their license to practice law. Credit towards fulfilling CLE requirements is obtained by attending classes, courses, and seminars. Instructors and presenters at this National CLE Conference are recognized as some of the most well-respected, knowledgeable lawyers, judges and professors in the country. Participants are able to accumulate 16-22 credit hours.
The 2012 National CLE Conference offers programs in the following areas of law:
- Civil Litigation
- Employee Benefits
- Intellectual Property
- Labor & Employment
- Real Estate/Sustainability
Early morning and late afternoon class schedules allow ample time to enjoy skiing on the Snowmass ski resort and also at neighboring Aspen, Buttermilk, and Aspen Highlands ski areas. Jim O'Leary, Snowmass Tourism National Sales Manager, helps coordinate the logistics in Snowmass Village and says, “We have many lawyers who bring their entire families along because of the variety of winter activities available in Snowmass Village.”
There are also numerous networking opportunities at the National CLE Conference. A favorite social gathering is the annual international wine tasting event. This year’s event promises to be better than ever.
One of North America’s premier resorts, Snowmass Village is consistently rated one of the country’s top ski areas. With over $1 billion recently invested in Base Village, a host of new on and off-mountain improvements greet skiers and riders including the recently opened Viceroy Snowmass, Sheer Bliss quad lift, Elk Camp Gondola, Village Express 6-Pack, Treehouse Kids’ Adventure Center, 22-foot super pipe, plus additional lodging, dining and retail spaces. Snowmass also makes it easy to maneuver, even with all the gear. Nearby Aspen/Snowmass Pitkin County Airport and free transportation make it easy to get to and from various resort venues.
Conference participants will also have the opportunity to learn about the recent discovery of juvenile Columbian mammoth bones unearthed near Snowmass Village in October 2010. Paleontologists from the Denver Museum of Nature and Science continued the dig during the summer of 2011 and found not only mammoths, but also mastodons, a Jefferson ground sloth, gigantic ice age bison, a small deer, and a camel along with well-preserved plant matter, ancient insects and invertebrates revealing an exceptionally preserved Ice Age ecosystem making it the most significant Ice Age discovery in Colorado and possibly the country. Visit the new Ice Age Discovery Center, next to Gene Taylor Sports on the Snowmass Mall.
