With a focus on the “The Role of Vendor Risk Management in an Increasingly Complex Business Environment,” the Summit agenda includes healthcare industry experts discussing the latest topics in Security, Privacy, Cloud Computing, Innovation, Vendor Risk Management, Regulatory and Supervisory Issues and Data Security Oversight.
Mr. Chaput will be taking part in a panel discussion entitled “Managing to the ‘New Reality’ in Healthcare Privacy” addressing the implications of the project findings report from the ANSI/Shared Assessment/ISA PHI Project co-sponsored by Clearwater Compliance. The report, which highlights the lack of investment in appropriate security to safeguard protected health information (PHI) was released March 5 in Washington and has created a lot of chatter not only for its revealing statistics, but because of the tool it offers to assist protectors of PHI create a credible business case with which to justify additional allocation of capital dollars in data privacy and security programs.
With over thirty years’ experience working with data security, privacy, integrity, and accessibility, Bob is very familiar with the challenges faced by healthcare organizations, and especially their business associates, by the rapid adoption of electronic medical records and the increase in the frequency and volume of data breaches, in addition to the complexity and cost of regulatory requirements.
The Shared Assessments Summit is a day-and-a-half event open to all users of their program tools, which help streamline vendor evaluations for security, privacy and business continuity. The diverse audience will include financial institutions, service providers, and assessment firms. The presentations and panel discussions will encompass ways that organizations can reinforce their security programs and the benefits of incorporating Shared Assessment tools into existing vendor management programs.
