Today, Clearwater Compliance, a leading provider of HIPAA-HITECH software, solutions, and professional services, announced that the Chief Compliance Officer for Hospice Compassus, David Andrews, CPA, MS, MA, will be joining the faculty presenting at Clearwater’s HIPAA Audit Prep BootCamp™ to be held in Chicago on June 25, 2012. Mr. Andrews will lead a special case study on “Surviving an OCR Investigation.”

In his role as Chief Compliance Officer, Mr. Andrews leads the compliance, internal audit, and risk management functions for this growing, national hospice organization. In addition, Mr. Andrews is performing as Senior Vice President of Business Development of this Nashville-based company, where he leads all acquisition, de novo, and partnership efforts.
Prior to these roles, Mr. Andrews served as Chief Financial Officer of Hospice Compassus for five years, helping build Hospice Compassus from a start-up to a middle-market company. He began his career in public accounting with Ernst & Young, where he audited public and private companies, before joining Booz Allen Hamilton where he consulted with health plans and pharmaceutical companies. He also served in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his 18 years in healthcare, including 8 years in hospice, Mr. Andrews holds a BS in Commerce and Administration, a Master of Accountancy degree from the University of Alabama, and a Masters in Health Policy and Management from Harvard University.
