“I couldn’t be more delighted to join the distinguished BootCamp faculty and advance understanding of the HIPAA-HITECH requirements, which are so critical to the trust Americans have with the health care industry.”

Today, Clearwater Compliance, a leading HIPAA-HITECH consultancy, announced that James C. Pyles, Esq. will be joining the faculty of their HIPAA Audit Prep BootCamp™ event being held in Chicago on June 25, 2012.
Mr. Pyles is a co-founder of the Washington, D.C. law firm, Powers Pyles Sutter & Verville, and has more than forty years of experience in litigation, counseling, and lobbying in the field of health law and policy. Upon graduating from law school, Mr. Pyles served for six years in the Office of the General Counsel for the US Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, where he received the department’s Distinguished Service Award for successfully handling complex Medicare litigation. He was also involved in shaping the privacy measures in the HIPAA Privacy Rule and the HITECH Act.
“Nationally acclaimed for his expertise with respect to the legal issues related to health information technology and health information privacy, we are elated to have someone with Mr. Pyles’ resume join the team of BootCamp instructors. I can think of no one better qualified or more passionate about educating protectors of PHI about the obligations and best practices to safeguard the healthcare information with which they are entrusted,” said Bob Chaput, Founder and CEO of Clearwater, the organizer of the event.
Clearwater is conducting its HIPAA Audit Prep BootCamp series in major metropolitan areas throughout the U.S. in 2012. Designed for busy executives, attendees will be educated in one action-packed day on critical information needed about the HIPAA Privacy and Security Final Rules and the HITECH Breach Notification Rule. This course, approved for 7 CEU credits by AHIMA and HCCA among others, is specifically designed to equip organizations to become and remain compliant with the regulations and prepare for the upcoming KPMG audits commissioned by the Office for Civil Rights.
“I’ve gotten to know Bob Chaput over the last year and am impressed with his depth of knowledge on this complex topic and his ability to distil this information down to actionable processes to achieve or enhance HIPAA compliance,” remarked Jim. “I couldn’t be more delighted to join the distinguished BootCamp faculty and advance understanding of the HIPAA-HITECH requirements, which are so critical to the trust Americans have with the health care industry.”
Additional Clearwater HIPAA Audit Prep BootCamp™ events are scheduled in Nashville, TN, on September 12th and in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, on December 6th. Registrations are now open for all events. The schedule for events in 2013 will be announced in August.
