Nashville, TN - Conference attendees have once again declared Clearwater’s HIPAA Audit Prep BootCamp™ a rousing success. The 3rd go-around for this popular event was held in Nashville by the HIPAA-HITECH compliance solutions provider, Clearwater Compliance, on September 12, 2012. Attendees were thrilled to gain the knowledge of compliance experts, hear about “real-life” experiences associated with the HIPAA-HITECH regulations and participate in interactive sessions with their peers. Some of the attendee comments at the end of the one-day session included:
The all-day event was specifically designed to provide organizations with practical, actionable information needed to become and remain compliant with the HIPAA-HITECH regulations. The educational curriculum was focused on helping organizations prepare for potential compliance audits or investigations by the Office for Civil Rights (OCR), the Center of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) or by their own clients. The executive-level conference attracted compliance, security, and privacy officers and other senior officers in healthcare “Covered Entities”, “Business Associates”, and “Agents and Subcontractors” from all over the US.
Outstanding preparedness, expert knowledge and real life experiences with the HIPAA-HITECH requirements among presenters! One hundred per cent (100%) of the attendees indicated in their post-BootCamp evaluations that they were “very likely or extremely likely” to recommend the Clearwater Compliance HIPAA Audit Prep BootCamp™ to a friend or colleague.
“We’re so thrilled that our 3rd Audit Prep BootCamp this year was so well received by attendees” said Bob Chaput, CEO of Clearwater Compliance. “With an esteemed faculty that included renowned DC health information attorney, James Pyles, who participated in the development of the HIPAA regulations; David Andrews, Chief Compliance Officer for Hospice Compassus that successfully survived an OCR investigation; and Scott Augenbaum, a Cyber Supervisory Agent from the FBI, discussing cyber security in healthcare, we brought surprising and informative real world experiences to the discussion, as requested by past, and vigorously confirmed by these most recent, attendees.”
In addition, the BootCamp has been certified for CPE credits by (ISC)2® Americas for CISSP, ISSA, IAPP, HCCA, HBMA and AHIMA. According to Mr. Chaput, “Clearwater is looking forward to continuing to listen to what our attendees tell us they need, and to respond to those needs as we plan for our upcoming BootCamps in Fort Lauderdale, FL, in December 2012, Washington D.C., in January 2013 and San Diego, CA, in March 2013.”
