Rated the number one self defense course of its kind, Close Combat Training celebrates its three year anniversary this month. Created by Owner Chris "Captain Chris" Pizzo, the company has helped over 100,000 customers learn how to defend themselves against the kinds of threats that require them to have a solid understanding of self defense in order to survive.
Pizzo and his wife were attacked in 1997, ambushed by an armed couple while driving. After realizing that both he and his wife could have been killed—and that he had been unable to protect her—Pizzo set out to create a close combat training course that would be applicable to real-life situations, unlike the martial arts that he had studied, which had proven useless in the fight. Though he and his wife were lucky to be saved by a police officer who happened to be patrolling the area, Pizzo understands that not everyone is fortunate enough to survive such attacks. In fact, many individuals are severely injured and killed in similar situations, a fact that prompted him to look around the world for a self defense method that actually works.
When he reached the United Kingdom, Pizzo discovered the study of close combat training and recognized that it was the self defense system he was looking for. After studying the art on his own, he brought close combat training to the United States in hopes that it would help others survive violent attacks.
"Our top priority is to listen to our customers and create the best experience for everyone. Our goal is to provide customers with information on how to protect their family in the case of a dangerous situation," said Pizzo.
Since April of 2008 over 100,000 customers have purchased the Close Combat Training System, including law enforcement officials, teachers, martial arts experts, parents, and other individuals who want the peace of mind that they can protect themselves should a problem arise. Due to thesuccess of the Close Combat Training Course, Pizzo has also released a series of training DVDs for members of law enforcement and women. The latest product to be announced is a twelve DVD instructor course to be used by people interested in becoming close combat trainers.
