About the Presenters
Andrew Hay is chief evangelist at CloudPassage. Prior to joining CloudPassage, Andrew served as a senior security analyst for 451 Research's Enterprise Security Practice (ESP), providing technology vendors, private equity firms, venture capitalists and end-users with strategic advisory services – including competitive research, new product and go-to-market positioning, investment due diligence and tactical partnership, and M&A strategy. Through his work at 451 Research, Andrew was instrumental in securing tens of millions of dollars in equity investment for numerous security product vendors. He is a veteran strategist with more than a decade of experience related to endpoint, network and security management technologies.
Sean Patterson is a senior manager of SMB Solutions Engineering for Rackspace. He graduated from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin with a bachelor’s degree in history. After a brief stint as a public school teacher, he launched his IT career in 1997, beginning with desktop support. Prior to Rackspace, he spent time at General Electric and Pratt & Whitney in a systems administration capacity, and later as a technical trainer. He joined Rackspace in 2001 as a support technician. In 2006, he made a shift to solutions engineering, wherein he consulted with current and prospective customers to architect hosted IT solutions to meet their business and technical requirements. In 2008, Sean transitioned into management, and in 2011 took over management of Rackspace's cloud solutions engineering team. Today, Sean leads Rackspace’s SMB Solutions Engineering and Technical Sales Representative organizations, enabling customers to leverage the full power of the Rackspace Open Cloud to solve their business problems.
