The new SMTP Cloud Connector allows us to easily SMTP-enable our cloud apps where no mail server is even available
Hollywood, FL (Vocus) May 5, 2010
Linxter, Inc., provider of the Linxter cloud messaging platform, today announces the release of an open source cloud connector for SMTP. The application is available at http://linxterdeveloper.com/smtp . This cloud connector enables developers to route email securely and reliably over the public Internet, even when the traditional SMTP port 25 is not available or cannot be used due to security concerns. Message encryption, non-repudiation, file chunking and offline functionality are all built into the solution. Control of message routing can be configured both at a program and instance level, and both one-way and duplex messaging is supported.
Combining Linxter’s powerful feature set with SMTP is a valuable solution for: companies that need to implement trusted email exchange with external organizations and cannot afford to have emails rejected or quarantined; businesses that have applications running on hosted servers that they need to connect to in-network mail servers; and developers who need to email-enable a distributed client app and have those emails sent through their organization’s mail server instead of having the emails routed through their customer’s Internet Service Provider (ISP).
“The new SMTP Cloud Connector allows us to easily SMTP-enable our cloud apps where no mail server is even available,” said Glenn Plunkett, Vice President of Libertas Technologies. “We can securely leverage our existing SMTP infrastructure without open relays, and send mail from hosted environments using our own mail server. Since each email can be verified by reverse-DNS lookup, this also helps reduce rejected messages due to anti-spam filters, even though they originate from widely distributed sources.”
“Linxter is a software development tool for developers who want to connect disparate applications and systems in a secure and reliable manner without any infrastructure or specialized coding,” said Jason Milgram, Linxter CEO. “Our cloud connectors are just another step we are taking to eliminate coding and integration headaches for our customers.”
