'Steep & Go’ is designed for the health conscious person on-the-go who wants to be confident they’re drinking a healthy beverage.
Boulder, CO (PRWEB) July 27, 2012
The Tea Spot announces today the launch of their cold brew tea steeper - ‘Steep & Go’ – which turns bottled water into fresh iced tea. The infuser pairs with disposable water bottles and loose leaf tea to cold brew tea. It is the newest addition to the company’s line of Steepware®.
Steep & Go was developed to provide consumers a fresh-brewed bottled tea option free from sweeteners and preservatives. Bottled teas are one of the fastest growing segments of the American tea market. This is due, in part, to consumers looking to reduce their intake of sweetened and high-calorie beverages. Bottled teas always contain some form of preservative and most contain sweetener. Some ready-to-drink (RTD) teas only contain trace amounts of real tea. In stark contrast, ‘Steep & Go’ gives consumers the option to make real, fresh brewed tea in bottled water. The ‘Steep & Go’ bottle brewer is the first in a series of products The Tea Spot is designing specifically for cold brewed loose leaf tea.
The Tea Spot’s CEO, Maria Uspenski, commented about the new addition to the company’s line of Steepware® “‘Steep & Go’ is designed for the health conscious person on-the-go who wants to be confident they’re drinking a healthy beverage. We feel that infusing whole leaf tea in ten to fifteen minutes into bottled water will transform the way people will choose to stay hydrated. Steep & Go is a convenient way to make fresh tea in a water bottle. We find that our customers want a healthy and great tasting beverage, but also appreciate our making it easy for them to make a perfect individual serving of tea – be it hot or cold. At The Tea Spot, we strive to make every new Steepware® product fit that requirement of making loose leaf tea more accessible.”
The process by which the ‘Steep & Go’ makes fresh cold brewed tea is reverse infusion. It filters the tea leaves from the consumable beverage as you drink, thus allowing tea leaves maximum room to expand in the water bottle. The product has a hands-free sports cap, which turns bottled water into a sport bottle.
The Tea Spot’s Wholesale Support Manager, Elise Ridgway, said, "I always find myself drinking less tea when the weather gets hot. The ‘Steep& Go’ makes drinking loose-leaf iced tea a quick and easy alternative to lower quality cold beverages. ‘Steep & Go’ is the only way to make fresh tea in a water bottle. It’s great for road trips because you can just keep filling up the bottle with water and you keep getting more great tasting tea.”
‘Steep & Go’ won the 2012 Best New Product award in the Innovation Category from the World Tea Expo last month at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The ‘Steep & Go’ cold brew tea infuser is available in four bright colors for the summer: Ocean, Green Tea, Violet, and Tangerine. 'Steep & Go' is dishwasher-safe and BPA-free, with a suggested retail price of $6.95.
