Former College Confidential counselors, Dave Berry and Sally Rubenstone, are now offering their expert college admissions services through their new Web site, College Karma.

Enrollment management solutions leader, Hobsons, acquired College Confidential on June 4, 2008. Now Dave and Sally and the former College Confidential counseling staff will continue to work with high schoolers and families all over the world through College Karma. As in the past, areas of specialization include Ivy League and elite admissions and precise college matching, even for students not seeking Ivy/elite entrance. College Karma also offers unique theater and musical theater counseling services.

All college counseling is handled by email, which is completely convenient for clients. Such "distance counseling" means that there is no need to schedule meetings or phone conferences. The written aspect of email is also ideal for documenting each step of the college entrance process. Students and parents don't have to worry about remembering what was said in a meeting or phone call. Everything is available for them anytime through College Karma's email documentation. "This system has worked exceptionally well over the years, as our testimonials and related successes show," notes Dave.

Dave has been helping students get into the best colleges for over two decades and specializes in Ivy League and Top-25 admissions. He is an expert in the areas of student stats evaluation, college matching, application essays, and Web-based college counseling.

His syndicated Q&A column, College Knowledge, won the Newspaper Association of America Foundation's Program Excellence Award. Dave is also co-author of America's Elite Colleges: The Smart Buyer's Guide to the Ivy League and Other Top Schools, published by Random House-Princeton Review.

Sally is co-author of Panicked Parents Guide to College Admissions, The Transfer Student's Guide to Changing Colleges, and The International Student's Guide to Going to College in America. She has appeared on NBC's Today program and has been quoted in countless publications, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, People, USA Weekend, USA Today, Newsweek, and Seventeen.

Sally was a Smith College admission counselor for 15 years before moving into independent college counseling. She has taught language arts, social studies, study skills, and test preparation in 10 schools, including many American international schools abroad.

College Karma's associate counselors bring a broad range of experience and strengths to their work, including expertise for special needs, international, and performing-arts applicants.
