The flexibility and variety of courses offered gives our associates the freedom to complete the classes they need on a schedule that does not interfere with their busy lives.
ATLANTA, GA (PRWEB) December 19, 2012
Aaron’s, Inc., a lease-to-own retailer specializing in the sales and lease ownership of residential furniture, consumer electronics, home appliances and accessories, announced today that five associates will be receiving StraighterLine scholarships as part of their corporate partnership program. StraighterLine is an online firm founded in 2009 that provides entry level online college courses to students looking to save on future tuition at accredited colleges and universities.
The Aaron’s associates chosen were selected from a pool of more than 100 applicants at Aaron’s locations across the United States and Canada. Each of the five scholarship recipients will now have the opportunity to enroll in five StraighterLine online college courses of their choice for a full year at no cost. The recipients will be able to choose from StraighterLine’s wide variety of introductory college-level courses including those in Math, English, Humanities, Science and Business.
StraighterLine’s scholarships build on the firm’s existing partnership with Aaron’s and provides Aaron’s associates an opportunity for higher education at a lower price. StraightlerLine’s flexible, self-paced education model provides their students the opportunity to receive a college education without having to sacrifice their career. This opportunity is pivotal for those looking to balance education and work.
“This scholarship program with StraighterLine is mutually beneficial for both Aaron’s and our associates in that it provides associates the opportunity to earn college-credits and work toward earning a degree while allowing them to continue in their full-time jobs,” said Scott Harvey, Vice President of Operational Support at Aaron’s. “The flexibility and variety of courses offered gives our associates the freedom to complete the classes they need on a schedule that does not interfere with their busy lives.”
StraighterLine’s affordable entry-level college courses allow students to save up to 90 percent on their first year of college. Course credits transfer to StraighterLine’s partner colleges and universities or through the ACE credit service.
