Retail Merchandise Management Degrees Added to Collins College Curriculum

Students attending Collins College can now choose to major in Retail Merchandise Management. The school recently added two new degree programs to its curriculum; an Associate of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Retail Merchandise Management. These degree programs feature instruction in everything from consumer behavior and retail operations to the fundamental principles of effective merchandising.

Classes offer a solid foundation in visual merchandising, pricing techniques, selling strategies and retailing principles.

At Collins College, there is now an opportunity for students to pursue a degree in the field of Retail Merchandise Management. The new associate’s degree and bachelor’s degree programs feature instruction in a variety of areas, including merchandise assessment, customer outreach, vendor selection and buying.

Students who are interested in the industry can gain the knowledge and skills professionals use to buy and sell merchandise across multiple industries, as well as manage it from concept to consumer. Training is available on a variety of topics, including product analysis at the retail and wholesale levels, the development of management and communication skills, and the creation of strategies for reaching customers with a range of interests.

Both of these Retail Merchandise Management degrees can help prepare students to pursue a variety of potential career opportunities in the field. Classes offer a solid foundation in visual merchandising, pricing techniques, selling strategies and retailing principles.

Some of the Retail Merchandise Management courses available through these two degree programs include Merchandising Principles, Professional Business Practices, Management Solutions, Visual Merchandising, Forecasting Trends, Branding and Advertising and Visual Retailing Concepts.

Students in these programs have access to a wide range of educational resources. Classes are taught by industry-experienced instructors and the curriculum is delivered through a combination of classroom learning and hands-on training.
