Get involved! Bring your friends for a fun night while signing up for a worthy cause
Burlingame, CA (PRWEB) August 11, 2012
Strides for Life Colon Cancer Foundation in the Bay Area is holding a registration kick-off party for its ninth annual walk/run/wheel race. The event will take place on Aug. 26, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Fiddler’s Green Irish Pub and Restaurant at 333 El Camino Real in Millbrae. Attendees will be able to register teams and individuals for the cancer walk on Oct. 21.
“Get involved! Bring your friends for a fun night while signing up for a worthy cause,” Katie Christie of Strides for Life Colon Cancer Foundation said. “Whether you are walking, running, wheeling or helping out at the event, we need you to help put an end to colon cancer. Colon cancer knows no boundaries! It is still the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the U.S., according to the Colon Cancer Foundation.”
During the kick-off party, registration will be easy, team or individual race materials will be given out, and volunteer sign-up will be completed. There will also be an opportunity to purchase logo wear, enter raffles and purchase tickets to Strides for Life Colon Cancer Foundation’s Night with the Giants at AT&T Park on Sept. 5 at 7:15 p.m.
"It takes hundreds of people to help make the walk/run/wheel a success. The colon cancer donations we receive provide colonoscopies to uninsured and underinsured individuals. Come make a difference," Christie said.
