Burlingame, CA (PRWEB) October 04, 2012
Strides for Life Colon Cancer Foundation, a San Francisco organization that is committed to raising awareness for colon cancer, is announcing the Ninth Annual Four-Mile Walk/Run/Wheel. Kicking off at 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 21 at Lake Merced, the event costs $35 during pre-registration and $45 on race day. Children 12 and under cost $10.
"Whether you walk, run, wheel or volunteer, we need you," Katie Christie of Strides for Life Colon Cancer Foundation said. “If you've already registered, thank you! You still have time to recruit family and friends to run or walk with you. Together we can kick colon cancer in the rear!”
Awards will be given to top finishers, the top individual fundraiser, the top team fundraiser, the most creative team costume and the best pet costume.
The event will also feature a free pancake breakfast, plus children activities that are fun for the whole family.
Strides for Life Colon Cancer Foundation will host a packet pick-up party on Oct. 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sports Basement, located at 1590 Bryant St. in San Francisco. Beer, wine and snacks will be served. Registered participants can shop and receive a 10-percent discount on all purchases, and Strides for Life will receive 10 percent on all proceeds as colon cancer donations.
"Even if you won't be joining us on Oct. 21, you can still support Strides for Life by attending the packet pick-up party and shopping,” Christie said.
