Each year, on the second Thursday in May, tens of thousands of Keller Williams associates from across the United States and Canada participate in a wide range of projects, devoting their time to renewing and energizing aspects of the neighborhoods in which they serve. This year, commercial painting company in Massachusetts, ProGroup Network was among the volunteers in this event, which Keller Williams refers to as “RED Day.”
With paint donated by Benjamin Moore as part of a cooperative effort to support the community outreach initiative that ProGroup Network has embarked on, members of the local Keller Williams brokerage as well as ProGroup Network staff helped paint the Urban League of Rhode Island Homeless Shelter on May 9, 2013. Volunteers spent their time trimming and painting the interior and exterior of the Providence, Rhode Island shelter and enjoyed great camaraderie during the event.
The Urban League of Rhode Island, which operates the Homeless Shelter, has been active in the community since 1939. “There is little glamour at the Division of Health and Welfare as we try to undo the flaws and wrongs in people’s lives left by living second-best,” says Dennis Langley, President and CEO of the Urban League of Rhode Island. “Through the League’s doors in South Providence walk thousands of jobless, the disenchanted, those who are grievous with the quality of healthcare, the aged, the dropouts, the dislocated veterans,” Dennis continues. With the assistance and painting efforts of commercial painting company ProGroup Network, the upkeep of the shelter is one less thing the League will have to worry about this year.

ProGroup Network has participated in several projects throughout New England as part of their community outreach initiative, with this RED Day activity being the most recent. Other projects include the painting of the Primrose Center in Orlando, Florida, a children’s coat and hat drive prior to the massive Nemo Blizzard, and the donation of school and art supplies to a local elementary school. Other projects are in the works for the remainder of the year.
